How CGPA is calculated

CGPA = ∑(GPA × credit hours) ÷ ∑(credit hours)

Worked examples

Three semesters

(3.5 × 18) + (3.2 × 17) + (3.8 × 19) = 63.0 + 54.4 + 72.2 = 189.6 quality points; 54 credits.

CGPA = 189.6 ÷ 54 = 3.511.

Two equal semesters

(4.0 × 15) + (3.0 × 15) = 60 + 45 = 105; 30 credits.

CGPA = 105 ÷ 30 = 3.500.
